   They quote, schedule and do the work. Pricing, warranties and terms come from them directly.

What we are and aren't

Missoula Deck Builders is a referral service, not a contractor. We don't send crews or employ technicians, and we don't set prices. Using the site is free for homeowners.

Montana doesn't issue a trade license for deck builders. Construction contractors with employees must register with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, which is a registration, not a skills credential. Most attached decks and decks more than 30 inches off the ground need a building permit, from the City of Missoula inside city limits or Missoula County outside them. Ask any builder for their state registration, proof of liability and workers' compensation insurance, who will pull the permit, and a written quote that spells out footings, materials and warranty.
